I like what I've seen so far, at least some flashes of brilliance which could mean light at the end of the tunnel. Would be great if we can finish in the 80-85 points range and we will see all these youngsters develop. |

I wonder if Dorian gets a good offer he takes it for either Stone or Duchene? How long will he wait to see if he can sign them? |

If he gets a good offer they are gone, but likely will end up with a lousy package at the TDL. Truth is that we really cant do without Duchene, there is no #1C in the pipeline. |

Being a Sharks ticket holder , I see 50 points from Tierney this year.
He;s better then you think. Good (not Elite) all around player |

The tear down stands separate from the rebuild.
I think Stone has embraced the rebuild and appears to be having fun. Less certain that Duchene is enjoying the fit.
I think players get moved sooner than expected and I think Duchene sits on the top of the list for a possible move.
I see the Islanders as being a leading contender to acquire Duchene.

I agree, I think Stone is a better possibility than Duchene. I don't Duchene needs to go to a contender, but I think he wants a team that's at the least going to make the playoffs consistently.
I was thinking maybe Columbus. A good team that could be losing their star player (Panarin).
If bob stays, they'll be a very good team.

The Islanders have a strong base of prospects and can probably easily make a good offer. More important, I think Lamarillo was brought in to get them past the perpetual rebuild stage and into a legitimate playoff contending situation.

I'm not sure if 50 points is doable. But I think 20 goals 20 assists is. He'll get more opportunities here. |

He's definitely been a pleasant surprise so far. Him and Demelo... I hope you're loving EK...

While the fancy stats do show that the Sens are not an elite team, they do not show the whole story. IMHO what caused the Sens to tank last season was the following:
- Too much pressure from the high expectations due to their surprising success in 2016-17.
- Their superstar did not seem to have his heart in the game in last season. Was it due to his dislike of Melnyk, his lost faith in Boucher's "pay the price by blocking shots with your body (and almost ending your career doing so)", his wife's feud or a combination of all of the above? Karlsson just was not the same last season and it showed.
- Drama from the owner.
- Just plain bad luck; what worked for the Sens the previous season did not last season.
- Terrible goaltending coupled with and anemic offense.
This season many things are working in the Sens' favor:
- ZERO expectations and pressure.
- A group of rookies and newly acquired players who want to show what they can do.
- Melnyk has been VERY quiet - Perhaps those therapy/ coaching sessions and some meds are working for him?
- Goaltending is still pretty meh, but at least there is much more life in the offense.
All in all, I am not reading too much into this season after 5 games, other than win or lose, this year's Sens are at least having fun playing together. Maybe that is enough to convince Duchene and Stone to resign with the club? |

I think all managers have to wait until mid-season (contract negotiation opening) to be able to discuss with UFA players. There is nothing to worry about at the moment, because nothing can be done. We just have to wait, focus on the season and see what happens. |

If you think Tierney + Demelo for Karlsson was a fair trade, you must be on some next level drugs |

Boucher also seems to love this kid starting from last year's rookie camp. |

Shots against are a bit concerning.
But yes, I am really enjoying watching this team, particularly the prospects. |

Understandible, but at this point I think we just need to enjoy what we have.
Tierny and Demelo have looked pretty good, all things considered. |
